Australian Red Cross Volunteer Transport Service provides transport to 'essential' hospital appointments for people who have a medical referral. The real focus of the Service is on transporting people who need essential, short-term, medical treatment for up to six weeks. Some examples are:

• oncology
• dialysis
• cardiac rehabilitation.

It does not provide transport for shopping, banking, dental appointments or general rehabilitation groups.
